Sensory experiences are engaging, develop curiosity and are often calming for young children.
Playdough is one sensory play medium but supports young children's learning in several ways.

    Play dough is...

    • Calming - aids well-being, a good  “mindfulness” activity, assists language development and social communication

    • Absorbing - helps children to develop concentration and perseverance

    • Malleable - good for hand eye coordination, fine motor development, learning how materials behave

    • Transformative - supports pretend play, symbolic thinking
