SPORTS DAY CANCELLATION
Dear Families,
What a morning it has been! The day began with great anticipation and excitement for our Sports Day, but unfortunately, the weather had other plans and changed drastically and rapidly. Just as we were about to start, the Amber signal was raised, giving us no other choice than to cancel Sports day. I want to assure you that when the decision was made to proceed, it was based on the assumption that it would primarily be a cloudy day with intermittent rain. This decision was made after consulting with the ESF facilities team and reviewing the forecast. I want to express my gratitude for your encouraging words and understanding in this matter. We are truly grateful to be part of such a supportive community!
Additionally, please note that both the AM and PM classes are cancelled for today.
It was evident that families were genuinely looking forward to rescheduling Sports Day as the children were extremely excited about it. Therefore, we are currently exploring options for larger indoor venues in the area. This is because the weather in May and June can become too hot for a large outdoor event, and we don’t want to risk another cancellation due to weather conditions. A possible option is the RCHK assembly hall, however, if you have any connections to other large and easily accessible indoor venues in the area, please let us know.
We sincerely hope that you have a pleasant and rain-free weekend!
Kind regards,
Aylin
Dear Families,
I am thrilled to inform you that Sports Day will proceed as planned today. To ensure everyone's comfort, we recommend bringing a change of clothes or a light rain jacket in case it should start to rain. This way, we can adapt to the weather conditions and continue to enjoy the day to the fullest.
In the event that thunderstorms and lightning directly impact our vicinity, our priority will be to promptly seek shelter while closely monitoring the situation. In such circumstances, we kindly request your cooperation in patiently awaiting additional instructions and guidance.
Let's come together and make this Sports Day an unforgettable experience, filled with joy and lasting memories. We are excited to see you today!
Please remember to arrive promptly at 8:45am for a 9am start, so we can kick off the day's activities without delay.
Best wishes,
Aylin
SPORTS DAY: Friday, 26th April 9:00 - 12:00 at RCHK
Dear Families,
Although we are still very excited about our Sports Day, which will hopefully take place for all classes (AM & PM) on Friday morning, we acknowledge that the current weather outlook is unfavourable, and are closely monitoring the weather forecast.
We are prepared to proceed with the event in the case of light rain or drizzle, however, in the event of heavy rain and thunderstorms, the Sports Day will unfortunately be cancelled and a normal school day will take place instead.
We will send you an app message by 7am at the latest, notifying you about the cancellation if it becomes necessary.
In the meantime, please read our REMINDER LETTER.
Let's hope for good weather!
Best wishes,
Aylin

SPORTS DAY: Friday, 26th April 9:00 - 12:00 at RCHK
Dear Families,
I hope you had a restful Easter break. We are very excited about our Sports Day, which will take place for all classes (AM & PM) from 9.00am to 12.00pm at the Renaissance College Sports Field. Please note that due to the special arrangements for the day, school buses will not operate.
Please familiarise yourselves with the following details:
ARRIVAL TIME:
Please arrive at 8.45am for a 9.00am start and not before this time as we will not be able to access the school or Sports area until RCHK buses have departed and the school is in session. Please arrive at RCHK via the entrance near the MTR and proceed up the stairs, and around to the left. There is no parking available within the school.
PARENTS & CARERS:
Children should be accompanied by a parent/ carer and this adult is responsible for their own child. As it will be very busy, it is important that children are with their class and parent/ carer at all times. There shouldn’t be any children wandering off in the wrong direction on a crowded pitch and missing out on all the fun! Please listen to all guidance given by our school staff on the day and help everyone have an enjoyable and safe experience.
FOOD & DRINKS:
Please bring sufficient water for your child in a refillable water bottle and a small snack. We encourage you to use a reusable bottle rather than single-use plastic and nude food such as a banana. RCHK do not allow any food or drink, other than water, on their pitch and we must adhere strictly to this rule. We will have a 30min break during the session when we come off the sports ground to have our snack - During this time, the PSA will also sell snacks.
TOILETS:
We are able to use the toilets beside the primary gymnasium. Please ensure that children are accompanied by an adult. Children and adults can access the toilets at any time and are encouraged to access the toilets as necessary and not to wait for the break. This is to prevent long queues for the toilet and disruption to the RCHK staff and students.
BAD WEATHER:
In the case of inclement weather, the Sports Day will be cancelled and a normal school day will take place instead. If this happens you will be notified on the cancellation via app message by 7:15am.
DRESS CODE:
Please dress your child in a t-shirt of your team colour (information will be sent out by your class teacher later this week). Children should wear suitable footwear such as trainers to ensure they will safely and comfortably be able to join in the planned activities.
Adults must be aware that no heels are allowed on the pitch; flat shoes or trainers are ideal.
Both year groups have planned an activity which involves water so you may wish to bring a change of clothes for your child.
EMERGENCY PROCEDURES:
In case of a fire alarm we will stay and gather on the sports field and wait for instructions from RCHK staff.
..AND FINALLY
We will be holding adult races at the end of the morning so that our children can rest after all their hard work and be entertained by you. This is purely for fun so remember to bring your running shoes!
We are anticipating an energetic and fun day for all!
Best wishes,
Aylin Kip

Dear Families,
To promote safety and become more familiar with evacuation and safety procedures, staff and students practised a fire drill yesterday. Practising a fire drill at school is an important way to reduce the risk of injuries in the event of a fire.
Everything went smoothly and we evacuated the school very quickly in under 7minutes. Well done to all staff and students!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Warm wishes,
Aylin
Dear Families,
It has been brought to my attention that the video tutorial link on the communication I sent out earlier this week no longer works. I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
I have created an alternative document that offers step-by-step guidance on how to upload to your child's online portfolio. Click HERE to access the document.
If you have any questions or require some support with this, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards,

Dear Parents,
We continue to receive several complaints regarding parking inside Lake Silver. The Management Office of Lake Silver informed us that cars continue to stop in the marked area (refer to photo) and along the driveway to drop off or pick up children. It is of utmost importance to respect and adhere to Lake Silver’s rules and regulations. Families who come into Lake Silver to drop off children by the main door, MUST use the car park inside Lake Silver (please note that this will incur a cost of approximately HK$11 per 30 minutes).
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all families who have been using the car park. Your cooperation in adhering to our pick-up and drop-off routines each day are greatly appreciated. By following these guidelines, we can maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone involved.
Thank you for your continued support!
Best wishes,
Aylin Kip
